Languages
Navigate to Admin → Localization → Languages.
Here you can:

- Set a default language for the system
- Add new languages if needed
- Remove unused languages
:::info User language preference Each user can set their preferred language in their profile. The system default is used when no preference is set. :::
Translations
Navigate to Admin → Localization → Translations.
How translations work
OpSee stores translations in contexts (groups). Each context represents a module or component:
| Context | What it translates |
|---|---|
menu | Navigation menu labels |
equipment | Equipment names and descriptions |
reason | Downtime reasons |
loss_type | Loss type names |
material | Material names |
shift | Shift names |
| And more... | Every translatable text in the system |
Managing translations
- Filter by context to see translations for a specific module
- Filter by language to focus on one language at a time
- Click on a translation to edit it
- Add translations for new items using the add/update function
Auto-Translation
OpSee includes an auto-translation feature powered by DeepL:
- Translates all missing translations for a target language
- Can translate all languages at once as a background task
- Useful for initial setup when bulk-loading data
:::caution Review auto-translations Auto-translations are a starting point. Always review them with native speakers, especially for safety-critical terms (e.g., downtime reasons, quality defects). :::
Units of Measure (UOM)
Navigate to Admin → Localization → Units of Measure.
Unit types
Create categories for measurement types:

| Weight | g, kg, lb, oz |
| Volume | mL, L, gal |
